Espace Fann: Our Beirut Art Community Needs Your Help

We need you!

We are a Beirut-based studio offering university-level art and design courses. During the last four years, we provided healing and a better life to our community, all through the arts.

Our skill-building and design thinking classes create a stress-free, relaxing environment and promote sustainability and empowerment. We have offered these invaluable possibilities to our community during four unbelievably difficult years.

Between 2018 and 2022, Lebanon faced the 1-corona pandemic and regular closures, 2-a severe economic meltdown (the value of our Lebanese pound has plummeted and left us in disarray), 3-an acute energy crisis (one hour of electricity per day is all we get from our government!) and, last but not least, 4-the Beirut explosion that shattered our offices and our hearts.

And yet, we have persevered. Our classes are consistently full and our students are happy when they come to our oasis of tranquility and empowerment. Fifteen percent of our students have opened a new business in the arts after taking a class at our space. We have advised them and taught them and helped them create new careers.

Today, we find ourselves unable to continue without your help. Even though classes are full and demand is strong, the devaluation of the LBP and the energy crisis mean that we cannot afford to pay our rent and our private generator bill, all in USD.

To do so, with your help, and continue to offer support to our community during the coming year, we propose to offer a full scholarship for every 100 USD we get from you. We need 4900 USD to pay our yearly rent and keep going. In return, we will offer 49 scholarships to students in need.
