Hello, I'm Donna and I am Mum to Greta and Julia.  I'm here to help them with a project.  Below they will talk to you about their plan, and if you read on after that, I will tell you more.  Thank you for taking the time to read this! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------   Hello, my name is Greta and I am ten.  My little sister is Julia and she is 6.  Our nana has got a disease called parkinsons disease which is a disease that  makes you jiggle all the time and it also makes you feel sick and giddy and even makes you forget stuff, like where she put her slippers.   When it was the start of last year nana could still do lots of things which was normally outside stuff, like exploring beaches and rocks and walking places  that most people dont go to but quite quickly she got sicker and giddier and jigglier which is actually quite sad because now we have got two choices, 1. we could do all that exploring without her or 2. don't do it because it feels sad to not take her.  Nana always helps people who need help even when she feels unwell which is a bit naughty because she needs to slow down.  Julia and I have a jar called Nanas secret adventrure  jar and whenever we get money we put it in.  When Julia put her tooth fairy money in there our Mama saw it  and wondered what it was for and then she said that Dad and her will put change in there too but it would take a long time.  When our Mama talked to our neighbour, our neighbour told us about places like this that could help.  We had a special family meeting to find out what everybody thinks about it and if we agree and Julia and me do agree that we wish for enough money to buy tickets to FIJI!.  The reason for Fiji is because it has warm weather and the fact is that warm weather makes nana feel better but cold weather makes the jiggles worst.  Anyway, I'm excited that we are doing this and thank you to whoever is reading it.  We are keeping on with putting our coins in nanas jar but anyone reading this, please can you help us to save up?  Any little bit counts and right now we have $14.20 in her jar! Love Greta and Julia.  xx --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------  Hello again.  So as you'll have gathered, my Mum, (also my best friend) has got Parkinsons Disease.   Throughout her life, she dedicated herself to us, (my Dad, my brother and myself) and ensured we felt loved, appreciated and confident.  She stayed at home and spent many hours a week just doing things with us, teaching us, and helping us discover our world.  She has always seeked out those who need love, support, help financially (when she can) or simply a shoulder to lean on.  She spent ten years volunteering for Victim Support and still carries those she helped in her thoughs.    Seeing her health decline so quickly has been so sad, especially when she tries to hide it because she doesn't like to make a fuss.  We do all we can to help, and the emotional support is nourishing for us all to give but the thought of giving her this holiday makes me tear up, because for her, getting away from everyday busyness, being in a warm climate, and being with family is as good as it gets!    It was something that happened four days ago now that sparked this plan.  Our youngest child, Julia, lost her first tooth, and, as is the custom in our family, the fairies wrap up some coins and a mystery surprise inside some pretty fabric with a ribbon.       When she woke up, she discovered her fairy pack and instead of opening it, she called her sister, asking her where 'Nanas Secret Adventure Jar' was, and when Greta brought it through, Julia put it straight in.  When I asked what the money was for, the girls said they were saving money to pay for Nana to have a 'fun adventure, staying somewhere warm for a wee while', which translated to them paying for her to stay at a camp up the coast.    After trying to convince Julia to open her fairy gift (and promising to put money in it's place) Julia said "no because it's for Nanas secret adventure".    I was touched by her gesture and told my friend (also our neighbour) about it and she suggested the girls start a fundraising campaign on here.     So the girls plan is that we all go on holiday together to spend some quality time with this selfless, gentle woman who has made an impact on so many lives.  If you've read this far, thank you for reading the girls story.  If you are able to contribute to this dream, however much, your donation    would mean so much.   For us, this is a chance to make good things happen to a good person.   Donna
