Hello... my name is Jertie. It is with a heavy heart that I am writing this to you all....my family, friends and even other people out there who I have not met personally. My dearest older sister and best friend Jb Christ 35 yrs old, has been recently diagnosed with Endometrial Cancer Stage 4B. This type of cancer is progressive and it has already metastasized to other parts of her body. When it was detected, the doctors also found 5 lymph nodes. My sister Jb is such an amazing, selfless, kind, supportive & faithful person. She is a loving daughter and sister. Growing up she would go out of her way to look for different kinds of jobs just to help support our family. She was also a working student, she worked so hard so she can finish college. On top of these, at a young age she has dedicated her life to serve God. No matter how busy or tired she was, she made sure that she dedicated part of her time singing during mass service at Our Lady of Grace Parish Church in Mabalacat, Philippines.
My sister Jb has been bleeding a lot for the past 1 year, she has seen so many Ob-Gyn doctors and she was told that she had a mayoma cyst and she was prescribed some medicines. 6 months ago she went through a surgery to treat the bleeding, unfortunately she continued to bleed. I've lost count of the number of bags of blood transfused to her. After everything she went through, she was still in constant pain and about 2 months ago I took my sister to another hospital and the doctor saw a huge tumor and she was immediately admitted to the hospital and scheduled for major surgery. Aside from taking out the huge tumor during the surgery, the doctors also took out the her ovaries and appendix. 11 days after the surgery her biopsy came out and the result was an Endometrial Cancer Stage 4B. My heart was broken in so many pieces, my family was devastated. It was even harder when my sister told me that she does not want to give up, she wants to live longer so can continue to help us her family and to continue singing for our Lord God. On this page, you'll see a video of her singing to our God right after she left the hospital. She has a very beautiful voice and it is so hard to see her go through this so much pain.
My sister lost her job last March and she does not have health insurance. Our family used up most of our savings because of the medical costs and the last surgery cost about Php210,000.00 ( $4,375.00) and our other relatives already helped to cover this expense. Now she has to go through 6 cycles of chemotherapy which cost about Pph258,000.00 ($5,375.00). In addition to this, we have to cover the cost for radiation and other hospital bills. Our family is in desperate need for financial support to cover all her medical expenses. I am humbly asking for your help, knocking on your kind hearts to help us raise the funds needed for my sister's chemotherapy and hospital expenses by clicking the Donate button below.
