Campaign Story
Please help me get my kitties the care they need. My oldest, Nermal (dark tabby), has developed asthma I believe but I am unemployed and cannot afford to take him to the veterinarian. He needs to be examined, blood work, evaluation of his bronchial secretions, parasite tests, radiographs, and probably x-rays to get a proper diagnosis. If it is asthma as I suspect from researching his symptoms, he will have to go on medication that includes a specially adapted inhaler.I hate that I haven't been able to take him to the vet because asthma can quickly become a life-threatening situation for a cat.
My other three cats need routine care. The two youngest, Odin (white and gray) and Hermes (light tabby), are over a year old now and still need most of their kitten shots and to be neutered. Peaches (orange and white) needs her checkup and current shots. All of the cats require food and litter. Nothing is more important to me than my cats. I'll feed them over feeding me. I'm having to use litter so long that I am afraid they could develop problems from it.
Another major issue is that what little money I had has run out and the electric bill is due. I need that to run the fans to help keep the kitties as cool as possible in what is supposed to be another week with a heat wave. The air conditioner broke a month ago and the heat has made Nermal's asthma worse. At least the fans are helping some. I need $210 by Friday, September 11, 2015 to keep my electric turned on.
I am unemployed because I left my teaching position to care for my father who was fighting prostate cancer and needed a full-time caregiver. After he died I was diagnosed with breast cancer and had to go through my own treatment. Since then I've been applying for jobs and taking college courses but no job so far. I am a proud person and it is not easy for me to ask for help; but for my cats I will do anything!
Thank you for taking the time to read this and for any help you can give. Please share this with others who you believe might be able to help. Every penny is a blessing. I will keep everyone up to date on how my kitties are doing and any news from the vet once I am able to take them in.

Starting a New Job
Update posted by Diana Dickerson at 04:07 amGood news, I have found a part time job. It is only part time and it is retail, but it will start getting some money in. I still want to return to teaching, this will help me get back on my feet though. Sadly, I will be lucky to earn. . . . .
Kitties still need medical attention
Update posted by Diana Dickerson at 06:50 amNermal has been having trouble breathing while laying in bed. It hurts me so much to know that he is hurting and I cannot do anything to help him. I really need to get him to the vet but I cannot do that without the money to pay for it.. . . . .
Electric has been paid!!!
Update posted by Diana Dickerson at 06:35 pmI want to thank everyone for their help so far. We have gotten the electric bill paid. The kitties will continue to have their fans keep them cool. Now to work on getting Nermal to the vet. I am working hard to get a job so that I won't have. . . . .
