Please help my dad

My dad has always been my hero, and an amazing man. He's actually not my biological father (he's my ex husband's father), but the man took me in @ 15 when I had now where to go. I'm now 36 yrs old, and watching my super hero struggle to pay his bills and purchase his medication is breaking my heart. I'm trying to help him as much as I can, but things are getting financially hard for myself as well. I've tried to get him on assistance and they are taking their time with his application, he doesn't qualify for medicaid and not old enough for Medicare. He ended up getting a blood clot in his leg and spent almost a month in the hospital. Then in august we received devastating news that his middle son (my brother) commitment suicide. I would like to pay my father's bills rent, electric (which they are threatening to shut off), water, and purchase 3 months of his prescription so he can catch his breath. I just need some help doing this. I work full time, but it's just not enough. Unfortunately I'm not able to ask anyone who he knows for help, because he would be very mad at me. Matter of fact if he knew I was doing this he would be furious with me (baby boomer generation) not a bad thing, he just would rather go without then ask for help.
