I want to share with you the battle of my 10-yr old son with CHILDHOOD LEUKEMIA. He was diagnosed with an acute lymphoblastic leukemia last July 2015, he was 9 at that time (i created this accnt). It was just started with a small lymphnodes at the left side of his neck until both sides became swollen some time in late May 2015. He took antibiotic for 3weeks as advised by an Ent Dr, but it didn't subside. So by then we've decided to consult with a hemo onco dr and have his neck biopsy & bone marrow aspiration. And that was time the disease was diagnosed..it was only a matter of 2mos.

He had a Brain Radiation on Aug 2015 for 2weeks (this is only to prevent the cancer cells from going up to his brain.)

While on treatment he had testicular relapsed & now currently having sessions of chemotherapy with another 3-yrs protocol after the relapsed (Memorial Sloan-Kettering New York 2 Protocol). He can't be able to walk straight and had difficulty going upstairs. There was also a time that he's out of control and falls on the floor due to weak legs and knees. He experienced mouth sores.. joints & back pain. He cried hard when his hair falls out and it was very hard for me to explain why it happened. He really loves his hair.

Last Oct 2015, he got an allergic reaction in one of the chemo drug (l-asparaginase) & needs to replace with a diff brand which is very expensive. But after 8 doses of the injectible drug (erwinase) he again got an allergic reaction on Dec 2015. By then our onco dr decided to give him l-aspa again in disensitation procedure. After giving the chemo drug (l-aspa) & when we got home after the discharged at the hospital my son experience vomiting and complained pain in his stomach. He can't be able to eat well because stomach got full even if small amount of food and the pain got severe as days passed. By then we bring him to the hospital and he was diagnosed win an acute pancreatitis. According to the dr, that was a side effect of the l-aspa chemo. I'm so scared because I know that the disease is life threatening and that I didn't bring him to the hospital as soon as possible because I rely to my son as he said that the pain is still tolerable. He bacame so weak and can't be able to eat just like before. It's good that his dr's were doing their job well because he gave my son the alternative food he can eat and rest his pancreas. We've really gone through a lot of pain and sacrifices...But God is really good, He takes away all the pain.

He's now under the Home Study of the school he attended. He have many dreams, he loves reading, singing but more liking the online series like Naruto and that relieves his boredom.

We love him so much & I will do everything for him. It's very painful to see your child suffering.

Please include him also in your prayers...God is truly a healer and a provider. HE gave us all our needs with also our continious effort to surpass this trial. And we also thanked all the good and kind-hearted people who support us. The outpouring help is unexpected. The huge expenses is exhausting us today.

Any kind of help would be very much appreciated. I am a mother knocking every good hearts who can share a little of their blessings.

Thank you & God bless

Chemo Drug : Erwinase

Update posted by Rose Anne Muncal at 04:30 am

I tried to seek help from PCSO for chemo meds, specifically ERWINASE.. but the particular chemo drug is not available here in the Phils...& PCSO only give generic brands for the patient...I have no choice but to order it from France thru the agent of Globo...felt so helpless...
