Rex is a German Shepherd and has been part of the family for 8 years now. He is our pet and at the same time, our guard dog. He's been with us ever since he was a little pup and I don't want to see him go so soon.
You see, starting last year some small growths started forming on his body. They didn't seem to be affecting or bothering him in any way so we thought it wasn't anything serious; that they world "heal up" sooner or later. We took care of him the best we could: grooming him taking him out for walks, everything.
Months passed and more growths started appearing. Now there were some on the legs and in between the claws.
At first it wasn't an issue but until a few months ago, we noticed Rex was having trouble walking. Right now as I am writing this, he can't run as well as he used to.
He has a huge growth that opened up a few weeks ago at his side and his ears ,which were perked up once upon a time, are now drooped. His neck also has a growth.
I feel bad for not taking him to a vet for a check-up while it was still early. Now the condition has worsened over time and it's just horrible. It's becoming a problem to bathe him because of all the growths and open wounds.
He eats well though so I think there's still time. All we can afford at the moment is money for food but I want to take him to a vet as soon as possible. I am not sure how much it would cost for diagnosis and treatment so any amount would be appreciated. Thank you.
