Hi, meet my beautiful friend Crystaleen 'Tal' Antonio, 35 years old. I have known her to be strong-willed, free-spirited, unapologetic and stubborn - which I like about her by the way! She's a loving daughter to his parents, an understanding sister to her siblings, a dependable friend, but more than anything else, a Supermom to her precious son, Dylan.

For the past 5 years, she has been battling against 'end-stage renal disease' - in layman's term, kidney failure. Both of her kidneys are no longer functioning, and in place, are the countless painful dialysis sessions she has grown numb to.

For the past years and with the help of friends and family, Tal has been slowly saving up for her 'kidney transplant' with National Kidney Transplant and Institute (NKTI) (This took this long because she had to juggle savings with their daily living and cope with the continues dialysis expenses as an intermidiate medical solution).

The estimated cost is an overwhelming PHP 1.7 Million, plus the post-operation expenses, maintenance and medication.

Currently, Tal has started her work-up with NKTI, and is hoping to finally get her que for the transplant. While big chunk of the expense shall be covered by solicited support from government agencies and private institutions, Tal has to secure funds for her on-going treatment and pre-operation cost (more like a placement deposit to secure her admission with NKTI as I understand it). Tal is praying hard and is hoping that she gets to undergo transplant by May or June this year.

A successful transplant can greatly improve the life of a patient - and my friend Tal, needs it badly.

We are reaching to you and asking for your support for this cause.

Sincerly,

Dang

REFLECTION:

May we have the unwavering faith and eagerness of the four (4) men in Galilee who never gave up, braved the crowd, climbed and dismantled a roof so they can lower the mat where their paralyzed friend lays on, down right in front of Jesus. And so, Jesus healed their ailing friend.

Philippians 2:4 ESV - Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others.

Galatians 6:2 - Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.
