Hi there, my name is Zanele Mlambo and I'm currently in the 12th grade in Johannesburg, South Africa.I started this fundraiser to not only benefit me but, to help people that are very deserving in my point of view. Covid-19 and life in general, has made life hard for others and unfortunate people don't have enough to provide for themselves and their families. Refugees touch my heart because, they are left vulnerable and poor in their search for a better life.
They try everything they can to get a better life and sometimes they still don't get the chance of having the life they wish to have. $49 600 is R920 122,16(ZAR) in rands. I have dreams of attending college/university in Canada to be closer to my cousin and niece and to start a brand new life. Hopefully I'll still get this chance when Covid-19 has gone down. For now, I can only hold onto my dream. I have been accepted to 'The university of Winnipeg', and I have other applications between August and October. The application fees alone are expensive, so any amount donated will be appreciated.
I want to raise funds because I know my family won't afford to send me to Canada, they won't be able to cover all the costs needed. I want to do good for refugees and myself. I will be donating to UNHCR - UN Refugee Agency, and another portion will go towards a local Covid-19 relief campaign 'Corona care for South Africa.' launched on March 16 2020 to connect individuals to NPOs who are
supporting those in need as a result of the Covid-19 outbreak. They have
LivCurious, Kunye by Feed SA, Uthando, it is featured on Backabuddy website. From the money I wish to raise in total, I will donate R90K to both campaigns ('UNHCR' and 'Coronacare for South Africa') I will add another 20-40K in rands if there is any money left over after covering my college, visa, and moving costs.
Please help me make this a reality, thank you :)
