Please help me put hair back on my head

Hi all,

This is really hard for me to do something like this but as my friends and family, I am sure that you will agree that it is for a good cause.

As you know, I have had alopecia for many years now. Usually it grows back eventually but on this occasion that hasn't happened. Although I try not to let it get to me, it does and I dream of having hair back! It would be nice to feel and look special and not have to wear my head scarf all the time.

I have tried wigs in the past and I haven't liked them. They have felt uncomfortable - itchy, they felt too big, they didn't look right, etc. I had resigned myself to the fact that wigs were not for me until I considered trying a human hair wig. Today I visited The Wig Sanctuary in Frome and met the loveliest lady called Cassie. Cassie lost a friend due to cancer and now runs the wig sanctuary to raise money for cancer related charities. Cassie doesn't charge for her consultation but just asks for a donation, if you are able to. I tried on a number of wigs but there was one that was very similar to my original hair, fitted perfectly and felt right - I couldn't stop smiling. I felt like I used to feel, I felt normal and feminine. I got my hair back!

Now the issue and the reason why I am setting up this campaign... The wig costs £1060! Please trust me that if I had that amount of money, I wouldn't be asking be asking for help. I have really questioned if this is the right thing to do but friends and family that I have spoken to have said to go for it. Now I'm not expecting to raise the full amount through donations, anything left I will raise by working extra shifts. If you can spare a few pounds, I promise that it will be money well spent. I will also be making a donation to Cassie's chosen charity.
