PLEASE HELP ME DETECT BOWEL CANCER BY DONATING FUND FOR COLONOSCOPY

Hello to all the kind souls out there.

My name is Helen and I am a 27 year old South Korean woman that have been working in New Zealand since 2017.

Until recently, I was working for an asian shopfitting company in Auckland on minimum wage for about 8 months before the company suddenly went into liquidation without paying me the two months’ wage that was arrears.

Before the sudden closing down of the company, I was trying to save money for colonoscopy because I had been having symptoms of bowel cancer, such as blood in stool, abdominal pain, severe weight loss and change in bowel habit for over a year.

It was nearly impossible to save much money being on a minimum wage while paying for the expensive rent (even though I was only renting a single bedroom in a family home) and paying for the expensive public transport in Auckland. Even the very little savings that I managed to make started to disappear since my previous employer delayed paying me the wages and eventually went into liquidation.

I urgently needed a job to afford the living costs after the liquidation and I did manage to find a temp job shortly after. Now the temp job has finished and I am on hunt for the next job to support myself. BUT my symptoms are getting worse and worse.. I often struggle to sleep at night these days because of the abdominal and hip pains.

I have been very worried that I am at the late stage of bowel cancer because my GP said bowel cancer is a silent killer and it is often a sign that the cancer has progressed to the mid-late stage when the symptoms start to show.

I am not eligible for the government’s fund or any personal loans due to the fact that I am on work visa. My last hope was the slightest chance I had that the liquidator would pay the two months’ wage after the liquidation process. I contacted the liquidator last week just to hear the news that all the proceedings from the asset sales went to ANZ who was a secured creditor and there was nothing left for me.

I have no idea how long it will take for me to make enough savings for colonoscopy because it will cost over $2,500 alone without hospitalisation. I am afraid that it will be to late to treat cancer by the time I undergo colonoscopy.

So I ask for your help.

Please help me detect bowel cancer by donating so that I can undergo colonoscopy.

I don’t even wish for the money for the treatment. I just wish that I can afford the colonoscopy and hopefully the tumor is small enough for the doctor to remove during colonoscopy..

IT IS YOUR HELP THAT I NEED TO GET OUT OF THIS PAIN.

I would appreciate any help.

Thank you for your time reading my story.

Sincerely,

Helen Kim
