Campaign Story
My name is Thobeka Munashe Ndlovu. I'm a 19 year male in my final year at high school.
My mother, Francisca Ndlovu, suffers from arthritis. This condition causes the cartilage in someone's knee and ankle joints to wear down and the bones eventually touch which if you can imagine is extremely painful (I've attached x-rays of my mother's arthritic knee and joint). This pain is also chronic and keeps her indoors as she can't walk far and she cannot do things a normal mother would do such as cooking frequently
Arthritis can be treated with joint replacement surgery but for my family this is something we cannot afford. Surgery at a private hospital costs R300000 about $27000
To alleviate her pain my mother takes large amounts of medications such as Pfizer Salazopyrin, Tramazac and Anthrexin. We try to stockpile as much medication as we can as it is expensive, I've even sacrificed my high school to help her but it is still not enough. The target I hope to achieve will leave us with enough medicine until the year ends
I thank you from the bottom of my soul for reading this and may the Universe bless you
Peace, Love and Positivity be upon you. Namaste
