Please Help Me Battle MS!

I'm a 38 year-old single mom fighting multiple sclerosis. I was diagnosed in the summer of 2013. At the time of my diagnosis, I worked a full-time job that did not provide insurance coverage. I was hospitalized and unable to work for eight weeks. As a result, I have been left with staggering medical bills. 

Since my diagnosis, I have acquired assistance for future and ongoing medical expenses and some prescription drugs. This is a big coup, since my meds cost well over $2,500 per month! I walk with a cane most days and require assistance driving since dizzyness, vertigo, and optical neuritis cause poor vision and inability to focus (not something you want on the road).

I also have found work part-time after losing my job. That, along with help from family, make it possible for me to keep a roof over my head and food on the table. My child is very helpful and understanding, which is great (I got lucky!). I have been turned down for SSI but am appealing with the help of an attorney.

My plan is to pay off the hospital and neurologist's bills and get the collectors off my back. With your help, I can make sure my debts are eliminated and I can focus on healing and caring for my son. Any extra money will be given to the MS Society. I want to have my life back to normal as much as possible.
