Okayama is known as the "Land of Sunshine" and the the FRUITS KINGDOM of Japan.

It is famous for Muscat green grapes, purple Pione grapes and luscious white peaches.

A few weeks ago, I visited this place and was amazed to see a different side of Japan - filled with charming greenery, fresh air and abundant peach and grape farms.

Sadly, many of these farms have now been abandoned due to the lack of workers, the recent heavy and disastrous rains in Western Japan, and the challenges of the agricultural industry.

A very good friend of mine has a farmstead in northern Okayama (near Kobe and Hiroshima).

Every year, from September onwards, the people in her village harvest divinely exquisite grapes which are sold domestically in the neighbouring Japanese towns along the Seto inland sea.

Her parents dream of being able to send these grapes around the world and have people discover the wonder and beauty of Western Japan.

So here's the idea.

We are embarking on a program to revitalize the Western Japanese countryside by developing declining farm estates, automizing production and establishing a system to make this industry viable and sustainable over the long term.

Estimated initial costs per the business plan (bottling, packaging, equipment): JPY 100 MM

Amount to from crowdfunding: 1% of the total amount OR US$ 10,000 (JPY 1.0MM)

Proceeds will be given to the Takebecho Municipal Community to kickstart the project.

We believe that dreams are turned into reality with small determined steps taken day by day.
