Please help kick start my photography business dream

Note: I am wanting to 'pay it forward' with this campaign. If I manage to reach my goal, and purchase the necessary equipment, I want to offer my services to someone for free. Maybe there are some couples out there who are getting married soon, who can't afford a high quality, professional, wedding photographer, and I can help someone in return.

Many people who know me, know that I am a passionate photographer / videographer, who is capable of producing some high quality images. I have been wanting to break into the photography business for several years, and even made a start along these lines (both in the UK and here in Spain).

For those who don't know my story, I moved with my wife and son to Spain (to the home of my wife) for a chance at a possible better future. However, things didn't go as smooth as we hoped. Over the past year I applied for over 30 jobs, and got rejections from them all. With all of the frustration that brings, and the need to support my family, I decided that if no one wants to hire me, I will make work for myself, and return to what I know best.

I recently started up with the photography business, and dusted off my old equipment and set to work building a website to showcase my work. You can see that here:

Looking at all the options available as a photographer, and careful consideration, due to the location we are in, the best way to make it as a photographer here (in the Tarragona region of Spain) is via Weddings and events.

However, to be able to put myself in a place where I can compete with the other local event photographers, and to capture images of their most important days, I would need to upgrade my camera gear to have something that is more reliable (as well as being able to use my old camera as a secondary backup, and for someone else to use during events).

Also, I will need a small portion of funding to get out there and advertise, produce examples of photo albums, and get to shows and open days.

Note: Even if we don't reach the full goal of what is required, we will still invest whatever we have raised into some new equipment to push drive the business forward, in whatever ways we can, and use some of the funds for marketing the business and getting ourselves known.

This is where you come in. You would be helping to fund a long time dream, and make it a reality, as well as helping to support a family in the long term.

What I can offer in return is my eternal gratitude (along with wanting to 'pay it forward' to someone who needs the help too), along with a promise that I will work hard to make this a success.

I have never asked for this kind of help in my life, and it is hard to even contemplate it now. I don't know if I will be able to reach my goal in time to get out there for this year's wedding season, but I am going to keep trying to get there.
