Knocking on benevolent hearts for RIO JAMES GONZALES PADIOS. He was rushed to the hospital on August 6, 2018 for jaundice, stomach pain & shortness of breath. Initial tests showed an obstruction in the bile duct to which the doctor suggested an ERCP (Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography) asap to remove the obstruction. However, the prodecure was put on-hold since the doctor requested for an emergency dialysis due to developing kidney problem. Also, another round of ultrasound was done. After several days, the ERCP was conducted, however, the removal of the obstruction was not successful because of it’s size at 2cm. A stent was placed in the hope of providing provisional relief but due to the onset of sepsis (blood infection) the patient’s condition got worsen. His kidneys were badly affected that he needs to be on dialysis every 2 days, edema has set-in, he was on round-the-clock dose of antibiotic & pain reliever, been given blood transfusion and still with jaundice, stomach pain & on oxygen support. Doctors were considering other factors that’s causing the fast deterioration of the patient’s condition aside from the obstruction in the bile duct. From probable leptospirosis, to leukemia, to lupus, to chronic hepatitis B. But all were ruled-out by a series of tests conducted! So now it has been concluded that the obstruction in the bile duct is the culprit. Doctor said that operation is the only way to remove the obstruction but the patient’s vitals must be stable in order to proceed. Today (August 30) is day 26 for James. Hospital bills have piled-up! And since Philhealth coverage (government insurance) has been fully consumed we have to do every transaction on a cash basis. The family (cousins, aunties & uncles, since James is an only child raised by a single mother) has been hand-in-hand to meet the daily expenses of medication, dialysis charges, labtests, etc BUT we can’t keep up with it considering the 26 days of confinement already and we still don’t know how much longer will James be in the hospital. Also, we have to come-up the needed amount for the operation. We are praying that God will touch your hearts and help James in his battle to have a second chance in life. Any amount will be of great help and is very much appreciated. For those who does not have a PayPal account, kindly deposit your financial assistance into this bank details:
