In late June of this year I traveled back to Hawaii for a 2 week trip. On June 30th at about 7:50am I was 50 feet up in a coconut tree when suddenly a strong gust of wind caused the tree to snap in half 20 feet below me. I was tied into the tree with my safety harness so I fell with the tree. My back hit the ground first. Seconds later the tree fell across my abdomen pinning me to the ground. My body was freed from the weight of the tree after a chainsaw was used to cut the tree off of me. I was flown to Queens hospital on Oahu where I stayed for eight days. There I discovered that I had two burst fracture's of my L1 and L2 vertebrae. I am very lucky to be alive and giving thanks for the sun that shines on my face every day and all of the loving family that surrounds me during this vulnerable time.
As a result of my injuries the doctors have informed me that I will not be able to preform physical work for the next six months. I will also not be able to travel back to Philadelphia to see my daughter,Sophia for the next two months.
I am asking those of you who are moved by such cause to help me with living expenses for the next 6 months. My rent is $1000 a month and my living expenses are approximately $1400 a month. I have secured a job working for American medical response as an EMT in Philadelphia which I will not be able to start until December of this year.
I am blessed to have such an abundance of love and nurturing care surrounding me during these times.

I am blessed with an overwhelming amount of support. Life is precious and I never expected to be surrounded by so much love. A special thank you to all of you whom have donated to my cause. Today I am meeting with my Neurosurgeon to discuss the possibility of surgery. I am missing my daughter Sophia whom I have not been able to see in a month and a half. I love you Sophia and I will see you as soon as I can get back. Mahalo Nui Loa
