Please help change our lives.

Many events lead to us living the way we do at the moment. We have both survived abusive relationships, battled with depression and had absent parents. By chance we met and fell in love but we met at a difficult time and ended up living in a car for three months. We asked the council for help but there were no police reports proving the violent situations we had both escaped from so we were seen as intentionally homeless and not a priority. It was very difficult to get enough sleep in the car while working nights and neither of us felt safe having a permanent address again so we borrowed as much as we could and brought a cheap 38ft narrowboat which was cosy but enough space for just the two of us and had all the basics we needed. Because it was cheap it had a few problems but we worked hard and got them sorted learning allot along the way.

Then our son was born a month premature. He is an amazing little boy so clever and inquisitive but he is almost a year old now and we are quickly running out of space. We desperately need a bigger boat but with hours being reduced at work and the price of everything going up even with a other jobs to try and make up the hours and selling everything that is not essential we are only just keeping our heads above water (no pun intended) so we have not been able put any savings away like we had hoped to. We don’t want anything fancy just a bit more space, basic faculties and a reliable engine but it really would change our lives.

We understand that not everyone is in the position to donate but if you cant please share and spread the word. We have been through so much and now we just want the space to raise our son to be a happy and good person.
