PLEASE HELP BLACKIE FIGHT FIP

my sweetie Blackie (2,5 YO) was diagnosed with FIP (Feline Infection Peritonitis) in late November/early December 2019. Cats’ chances to beat and survive this (officially incurable) deasease are lower than 5% and such cats usually die quickly.

Blackie’s weight at the time of diagnosis was 2,8 kg, she was apathetic, skin and bones without appetite (I was feeding her via syringe), jaundiced, without sparks in her eyes. So, how it happened that Blackie is still alive and moreover active, cuddly, eats and plays a lot and weights almost 3,9 kg? Thanks to a group of supportive people who gave met the important initial information regarding the treatment possibilities I started to treat Blackie by an innovative (experimental) antiviral medication right after her diagnosis.

To make the story short, the medication is not available commercially, and thus is expensive. Because Blackie has a mixture of the two types of FIP and probably also neurological issues it raised the initially expected and estimated cost of medication to over $ 5 000 (the cheapest option) for a full, 12-week couse of the treatment.

Any little bit helps and it would be greatly appreciated. If this fund goes over what Blackie needs, I will donate it to other FIP Warriors members who are also looking for funding.

mojí Blackie (2,5 roku) byla na přelomu listopadu a prosince 2019 diagnostikovaná FIP (infekční zánět pobřišnice). Šance kočky na přežití této (oficiálně neléčitelné) nemoci je méně než 5% a kočka obvykle umírá rychle.

V době diagnózy Blackie vážila 2,8 kg, byla apatická, kost a kůže bez chuti k jídlu (krmila jsem ji stříkačkou), měla žloutenku, byla bez jiskry v očích. Takže, jak se stalo, že Blackie je stále naživu a navíc aktivní, mazlivá, s velkou chutí k jídlu a hraní a váží 3,9 kg? Díky skupině podporujících lidí, kteří mi poskytli důležité počáteční informace o možnostech léčby, jsem začala Blackie hned po její diagnóze léčit novým (experimentálním) antivirotickým lékem.

Ve zkratce, lék není komerčně dostupný, a tedy je drahý. Vzhledem k tomu, že Blackie má kombinaci suché a vlhké formy FP a navíc ještě podezření na neurologické problémy, došlo ke zvýšení původně očekávaných a odhadovaných nákladů na léčbu na víc než $ 5 000 (nejlevnější varianta), a to na celou dobu trvání léčby (12 týdnů).

Jakákoliv pomoc je vítána. Pokud sbírka překročí částku, kterou by Blackie potřebovala, předám ji dalším FIP bojovníkům, kteří také hledají další možnosti financování.
