Campaign Story
I adopted Betty 4 years ago, she was horribly abandoned…tossed out of a moving car when she was 3 months old. I was the driver that saw it all happening and rushed her to the hospital for help. I ended up adopting her as both of us created a special bound.
I ended up adopting another rescue cat, Sal, to keep her playful company during my working hours. They are inseparable and love each other to bits!
Last year I moved to South Africa, from Lisbon, Portugal, to start a new life and a new job and flew them both to Joburg, as I could never give them up for adoption. They are part of my family and my responsibility.
Unfortunately, due to family issues, I need to move back to Lisbon.
I’ve been preparing everything for them to fly back with me in June. I’ve got a very nice pet flight company taking care of the documents and I’ve been taking care of all the vet certificates and check-ups I need to get done before they can fly back.
With Sal all is good, I had no problems at the vet and got all on-going but when it came to Betty her identification chip was not working and I needed to place a new one. This has delayed the whole process for 4 months!
We were all going to fly on the 10th of April but now they can only fly on the 30th of July due to all the veterinarian requirements.
I postponed my flight to the 2nd of June to stay with them as much as I can, before going back to Lisbon and to avoid them staying in a cattery, but now I have no option and no one to take care of them for these extra 60 days they need to stay in South Africa.
I’m desperate at the moment as I need to get them boarded in a cattery for 60 days and I have spent all my savings on their flights, veterinary tests and certificates to get them back home.
I have no money to cover the cattery expenses and unfortunately will be moving to Lisbon with no job…I need your help! I don’t want to give them for adoption and don’t know what else to do but ask for your sympathy and help!
The cattery will cost me 70ZAR, per cat, per day – 8400ZAR, about 700Euros at the current rate.
Please help me get my pets home!
