Hi, my name is Marvin Jones and I’m fundraising for a campaign titled “Please help” which is a sequel to my other GoGetFunding project titled Get Woke. The campaign is a true story about discrimination and racism and provides a good example of what can happen to you if Get Woke is not completed.

Without question, both this fundraising campaign and Get Woke shows that prejudice, discrimination and racism have no boundaries among the different racial categories of people in America. Moreover, it is intended that the new nonprofit corporation which evolves from Get Woke will help prevent the problems mentioned in this campaign from happening to other people when they incur a situation similar to mine.

After hearing how negative my story sounds, it is nonetheless true and is supported by actual, honest, and verifiable facts. It is a must read!

My Story

At first, I was very conservative and low key about certain things that involved me. But not any more! This is because as a 77 year old, married, retired and disabled, white man, I was not treated fairly by a federally-funded organization that was created to help people that were in a situation similar to mine. In actual fact, and to be very straightforward about this matter, my story contains more than enough evidence that shows I was discriminated against. Thus, the government was not here to help me and the evidence presented in this campaign proves it!

My Situation

In summarizing my situation, our house, vehicles, and personal possessions were all flooded during Hurricane Harvey. My wife and I didn’t have any other choice but to obtain a Small Business Administration (SBA) loan to rebuild our home if we wanted to live in a house again. Little did I know the SBA loan would later be used against us.

After moving back into our rebuilt house, I learned about a new organization that was being funded by the federal government to reimburse flood victims for the out-of-pocket expenses they paid to rebuild their houses. In February 2019 we applied through the new organization for reimbursement of such expenses. But over 2 years and 3 appeals later we were denied reimbursement. We received absolutely nothing!

Formation of Fundraiser

Before proceeding any further with my story, and in order to avoid any conflicts of interest between the parties mentioned herein, the new federally-funded organization and its personnel are hereinafter collectively referred to as the “Organization”. It is also important to point out that the content and User Submission included in this campaign is truthful, impartial and objective. In addition, this story is linked to my other GoGetFunding project titled Get Woke and its third party website. This is because both websites are an integral part of this campaign.

All Evidence

All evidence that verifies the government was not here to help me has been very well documented. This evidence is presented in the third party website that is a part of Get Woke. As previously mentioned, both websites are about the new nonprofit corporation that is being formed to prevent prejudice, discrimination and racism from happening to other people.

Based upon all the negative things that had happened to me during my earlier recovery efforts with other federally-funded organizations, I expected from the very beginning that I might also be “disadvantaged” by the Organization. That is why I took great care in documenting everything.

The most damning evidence about the mistreatment or discrimination against me is set forth in my Rebuttal letter to Texas GLO dated 05/18/21 that is listed in a TABLE presented on the above mentioned third party website. Another glaring piece of evidence is included in My Complaint letter against HoAP and GLO dated 04/28/21. Of course, all the other documentation listed in the TABLE further verifies the government was not here to help me!

How I was Mistreated

What happened to me was like an unbelievable dream - a nightmare! This is because the blatant and premeditated acts of discrimination against me are all evidenced by the Organization’s misinterpretations, mistakes, and fraudulent entries of data on the documentation associated with my claim for reimbursement. For example, the biggest wrongdoing consisted of the Organization using a fictitious, hypothetically-valued, and grossly incorrect estimate for evaluating the cost of rebuilding my house instead of using my “actual and documented” costs. In actual effect, this was an act of fraud on their part. There were also errors and omissions in their calculations. All of this proved that the Organization manipulated their evaluation of my claim in order to deny me of any reimbursement. It was a travesty!

Amount of Reimbursement

A brief explanation about the amount of reimbursement I was seeking is set forth in my Rebuttal letter to Texas GLO dated 05/18/21. A detailed accounting of the amount is presented in my 3rd Appeal and Complaint letter with its 3 Enclosures.

The bottom line about being discriminated against by the Organization is based upon the fact that my calculations, which use the “actual and documented” costs for rebuilding my house, proves the Duplication of Benefits issue was not high enough to disqualify me from receiving reimbursement. Therefore, I do have an “unmet need”. But the Organization refused to acknowledge this honest and actual fact!

It is also important to point out that since submitting my claim for reimbursement, water sometimes migrates into my back Bedroom under the carpet. This might be caused by a cracked foundation and broken drainage pipe resulting from the flooding of my house back in August 2017. At this time, I just don’t know? But the cost of this repair will undoubtedly increase my original claim for reimbursement.

If any donations are received by this campaign, it is unlikely that they will be equal to the amount of reimbursement I was seeking from the Organization. However, any donations no matter how small will be greatly appreciated.

Why Reimbursement is needed

As communicated to the Organization many times before, my wife and I are in dire need of being reimbursed for our out-of-pocket expenses because we are an elderly couple that has numerous issues with our health. For instance, my wife is 74 years old and I am 77. We both have diabetes with the wife having to take insulin together with about 8 other meds. I also have a bone marrow cancer called multiple myeloma that formed a cancerous tumor on my spine whereby my L5 vertebra had to be replaced with a titanium vertebra. In addition to this disability, I am having chronic problems with my teeth and am taking medication for treating tremors (similar to Parkinson’s disease) and high blood pressure.

How Reimbursement will be used

The reimbursement is needed to help pay our medical expenses. Of course, any extra amount of money received would be used for completing some repairs to our home.

Believe What has Happened

Believe me … what has happened to me is eventually going to happen to you! This is because things are very different now which can easily be verified by all the changes that have taken place in our society and the resulting way of life. Unfortunately, a lack of respect and compassion toward some people in addition to an increase in discrimination and racism against others happens to be a part of it.

Closing

In closing, everything I told you in my story is true and likewise verified in the documents that have been made available to you on the websites mentioned above. I have been more than honest with everyone as can be seen in the transparency I provided about myself in the documents.

Therefore, if you really want to protect yourself and your loved ones from being taken advantage of or discriminated against, then you will have to stand up and let your voice be heard. Be honest and forthright because nobody will look after your personal interests and welfare better than you. This is especially the case now that the government will most probably not be there to help you!
