Campaign Story
I'm having my left shoulder completely replaced. I didn't even know such a thing was possible! But it is, and as I have no cartilage in there, it has to be done.
The reason for the fundraiser is that I won't be able to work for about 12 weeks. That is a bit of an issue for me as I am self-employed. Yes I do have company health insurance, but when I checked, it would only cover me for loss of earnings through accidental causes, not the general arthritis wear and tear that has caused this.
So not only can I not support myself, the Amethyst Centre - my business - is going to lose my input, both on a physical basis and financially. That is why I'm asking for help.
Having had a Facebook fundraiser which has helped me raised £600, I've been asked by various of my Facebook friends how they can help me after the end of that fundraiser, so I've set up this campaign. Nobody has to contribute to this and I wouldn'tblame you if you didn't to be honest, times is tough and nobody has anyspare cash. But if you would like to contribute, I would be very grateful for your help.
What I'd really like to do is book a week in a convalescent home. They do still exist, in fact there's one not far from me, and a week would cost about £850. I'd like to be able to be there immediately after I get out of hospital, to give me a chance to be properly looked after!
Failing that, the chance to employ cleaners, or a home help, or to pay for taxis to get around because I won't be able to drive anywhere, now all that would make a real difference to me.
Thank you for reading thus far. Bless you all.
