2020 has been a huge blow to Plastic Blues project, but we’re back and preparing for the upcoming year. We’re currently gathering funds to form a team of dedicated fundraisers to ensure the project is successful and runs smoothly. Your help will be deeply appreciated!
Plastic pollution of the environment hasn’t improved during the pandemic. On the contrary, it has worsened. Face masks, gloves and the increase in single-use plastics have been a major throwback to the efforts of the plastic pollution community in solving this problem.
Our project is designed to offer opportunities free-of-charge to plastic pollution researchers and educators, especially encouraging applicants from developing countries. Vast ocean areas and remote island communities are particularly susceptible to plastic pollution and environmental deterioration, yet these areas get little attention mainly owing to the high cost of travel and exploration of the distant corners of the world. Recognising the relevance of this global issue and wanting to contribute to solving it, captain Clemens Oestreich is offering his beautiful 120-foot long sailing vessel Infinity for scientific research and outreach.
We kindly ask you to support our endeavours in combatting this environmental issue that is of everyone’s concern.
Thank you. We truly wish you all the best in 2021!
