The establishment of Dyondzo Pambili Foundation was influenced by the information gap between the rural and urban areas and the lack of resources to apply for admission at university. We analysed and criticised the statistics of people who go to university from our village and surrounding rural areas. The board has therefor initiated a project called Plant A Seed. Plant A Seed is a project that aims amongst other things to:

Facilitate university applications,

Finance the applications for disadvantaged learners,

Provide mentorship programmes,

Provide career guidance, and

Assist academically challenged learners with tutorials and study materials.

The project also seeks to advance interest in mathematics, science, and accounting through establishment of competitions.

It is acknowledged that universities have introduced online applications some of which are free, research shows that it is still difficult for most learners from disadvantaged backgrounds to take advantage of such initiatives due to lack of computer facilities.

It is also evident that along the way some of our learners drop-out at secondary level.

Research shows that because of adversity most young people fail to access higher education and despite good matric results are only able to find employments as cleaners, petrol attendants and other domestic duties.
