Pixie’s Project: Volunteering

About my Project:

My name is Pixie and I am currently studying Biology. I aspire to become a zoologist one day. However, my mental health has made realizing this dream slow. I am currently attending DBT therapy, but I feel that it is not enough. At the beginning of this year, I tried something different. I volunteered in the Carpathian Mountains for a Wolf Watch project, and I had a wonderful time. Not only was I helping a wonderful cause, I was able to channel all my energy into the project so that I had a different sense of purpose and no time or energy to dwell on my disorders. I made wonderful friends and can now show this experience on my CV- a merit which I desperately need since I am dragging myself through my Sophomore year.

I am taking 'sick leave' next semester to focus on getting better, and volunteering would truly help me speed up thr process. I'm currently on the waiting list for a revegetation project in Iceland, but have many opportunities in other parts of the world, including Tunisia, China, Japan, Mogolia, Germany, and so on.

The money raised from this site will help me cover travel and living costs during my volunteer work. This includes international transportation such as flights, in-country traveling, food, accomodation, vaccines (if needed), insurance, and so on. I am hoping to raise enough money to volunteer somewhere for 2 weeks.
