Campaign Story
The Director of Pinewood, The American International School of Thessaloniki Greece, Dr. Giampapa, visited the Diavata refugee camp in March. There are currently 800 children living in the camp, most of whom will be stuck there for a very long time. We believe that education is for everyone and so would like to set up a small school in the camp by funding much-needed school supplies, donating classroom furniture and necessary equipment.
HOW YOU CAN HELP: By donating just 5 euros, you will buy a school starter kit for one child. This kit includes a backpack, a notepad, pencils, ruler-set, eraser, folder, drawing pad, coloring pencils and a sharpener.
These donations will give the children a chance to continue their schooling and also enjoy constructive play. We really believe this to be of utmost importance, and will help maintain a sense of stability in their lives. We hope to raise enough money so that each child will have a starter kit.
