Piece of H.O.P.E. Inc.

Piece of H.O.P.E. is a non-profit agency providing programs for at-risk troubled youth.  The program is will form partnerships with school districts and juvenile court system.  Piece of H.O.P.E.’s goal is to foster a commitment to young people that will promote pro-social friendships, strong interpersonal skills, and reassert a sense of hope for the future.  Only through personal relationships can a sense of individual responsibility be established that will give youth the commitment to follow through on path to adulthood with a sense of pride and accomplishment. With repeat failures at home and the development of destructive habits at-risk youth have lost faith in the possibilities that awaits them if they are successful in putting their lives together.  To accomplish this goal, young people must be in a caring environment that promotes their best effort and reinforces personal respect. Piece of H.O.P.E. is a program that is in direct response to the growing number of young people that are on the verge or already entangled with the juvenile court system.  The goal of the program is to identify youth who are going to have a turbulent transition to adulthood and offer positive support systems to avoid the pitfalls that can derail their lives.  The focus is to empower young people to make positive changes in their life and to allow special needs children to get help and develop friendships they wouldn’t make otherwise. Piece of H.O.P.E.’s program will pair a special needs child with an at-risk youth for 12 months.  During that time the two will participate in weekly planned activities to strengthen the relationship between the two and improve their confidence and hopefulness.  At-risk youth will receive training through-out the year and will participate in monthly meetings to report the special need child’s progress. Over time, Piece of H.O.P.E. will create a learning environment that will be an invaluable resource to young people and the community.
