Women, Pick up the Torch and Build a New World!

Around the world, we are facing challenges to lives of safety, freedom, and opportunity for ourselves and generations to come. The cause of this polarization of citizens make it nearly impossible to have civil discussion about the very issues we want to solve.

We have to Do It Differently.

And we can! We can Pick up the Torch of Those Who Have Gone Before:

• John F. Kennedy left a torch
• Martin Luther King left a torch
• Harriet Tubman left a torch
• Mahatma Gandhi left a torch
• Princess Diana left a torch
• Mother Teresa left a torch
• Emmeline Pankhurst left a torch and hundreds more.

During the 201l political campaigns, Sharon Riegie Maynard recognized that candidates were not asking women's for their vision. So, she called women together for a Grassroots Women’s Congress. The women who came together declared the values upon which life and policy were to be based.

The Grassroots Women also left a torch.

Today we stand at a crossroad. Unless we do leadership differently the polarization and elimination of policies that bring good will further destroy our planet, our families, and our freedom to create opportunities.
The Grassroots Women have made new plans. This year, 2020 is the time to Pick Up the Torch of their Values. It is time for new Awareness and new Consciousness to foundation personal commitment to the values mothers and grandmothers hold for those they love. It is time for diversity, for experiential wisdom, and for collaborative building.

We do not seek to fight the old systems. The New Consciousness is that we have the intelligence, creativity, and ability to birth cultures that will allow individuals, families, and communities to thrive. The New story is that those in Female bodies have the authority of Leadership.

Through an initial week-end event women will deepen into their clear, passionate selves and form creative groups with commitment to be Change-makers in their world. These Change-makers will choose and design innovative, and sustainable projects to bring a form of social change into their community, i.e. family safety, economic stability, transforming old wounds. The participants will be supported with a 3-month series in which women holding experiential wisdom will teach, guide, and encourage through online events. At the end of the 3-month period, the women will gather in a celebratory week-end to evaluate, discuss, and design ways to move the ripple forward.

Some of the take-aways for the participants:

• the addition and strengthening of leadership skills
• models for effective, respectful communication
• protocols to balance spiritual activism with personal self care
• collaborative models to expand strength and allow diversity
• protocols to recognize and heal sabotaging genetic trauma

Your donations will be the seed money for our initial Congress gathering, including facilities, mentors, and outreach. One is being planned for the Pacific Northwest in May 2020. These events will be pebbles dropping in local "ponds" that will ripple forward to circles of women across the country and around the world.
