Typhoon Haiyan, known as Typhoon Yolanda in the Philippines, was an exceptionally powerful tropical cyclone that devastated portions of Southeast Asia, particularly the Philippines on November 8, 2013. It is the deadliest Philippine typhoon on record, killing at least 6,190 people in country alone. IT REPEATED 13 months later with Typhoon Hagupit, a strong Cat 5 Typhoon, which traversed about 40 miles above the same path Yolanda took 13 months earlier. Every year this story gets repeated, whether in the Visayas, or on Luzon, or Mindanao. The Typhoon season started 3 months earlier this year, and potentially will devastate the livelihoods of thousands more families. can you help give these people the livelihoods they deserve???

The largest need is in long term recovery, and little to no money has ever been made available to the Victims directly. 90% of what you fund actually goes to rebuild the farms and farmers lives. The rest is administrative, including the 4% this site charges. Our profit comes from the grass we buy from the farmers, process and sell to the mills and power plants. As we move past 2000 hectare, it becomes the company that covers new farmers, but it is you who makes this possible. please note that if we exceed 1000 hectare from donations, we will continue growing new areas, this just helps us grow quicker. the need for bio based fuels is extreme in Asia, with the closure of Nuclear power in Japan, and the required implementation of a 20% conversion from fossil coal to renewable energy in S. Korea in the next 10 years, the demand is high!

The vast majority of the people from the Philippine Islands of Leyte (where Tacloban is), Northern Panay (Caticlan, Estancia, Roxas City, Kalibo & Batad) Northern Negros (Victorias, Cadiz, Sagay & Escelante) and Cebu (Bogo, Medellin, Daanbantayan & San Remigio), are farmers. This is where we, as a synergy of funders, farmers and company, will help the most!

It will cost us $1000.00 to prepare and plant the crop on 1 hectare of the devastated lands, this includes the seedling stalks/billets, as well as soil tests, organic fertilizers and Eco-safe insecticides like Pyrethrum, from chrysanthemums. The $1000 also covers the income for the farmers for the first 10 months, until first harvest.

Not only will the farmer make a living wage in the Philippines ($35/week), all his children will go to school! Furthermore, when he sells his crop to our company, he gains additional profit from his crop. In total, the farmer will earn well over the normal income of any other crop simply because of the large volume of production. (about 400 tonne per hectare per year)

During the Typhoon, the Tacloban Geothermal power plant sustained severe damage, putting it completely out of commission. By bringing additional fuel to the currently running Sugar-mills, and allowing their power-plants to operate full time, we will bring the power capacity of the regions closer to normal. Furthermore, as plants currently under construction come on line, our grass will enable a large portion of this power need to be provided for in an eco-friendly, carbon neutral manner.

Our "thank you" to those that invest will be in the form of profit sharing. Each $1000 funded covers the costs of restarting 1 hectare into production for a farmer. The company has decided to take the net profit the company receives from the sale of fuel of each of the initial $1000 hectare funded, and split it with the person, or group that has funded the $1000 cost. This share is permanent, and commences at the end of year 2, as this is the break even point.

We have 5 levels of funding, they are:

PLATINUM - this is the $1000 funding to start 1 hectare in production, we require 2000 hectare covered to guarantee success for everybody. A person can fund as many hectare as they desire until the $1,000,000 required, is funded.

GOLD - this is a $500 funding. it requires 2 gold funding to cover 1 hectare's replanting.

SILVER - This is a $250 funding. It requires 4 silver funding to cover 1 hectare's replanting.

COPPER- This is a $50 funding. It requires 20 COPPER funding to cover 1 hectare's replanting.

STEEL - This is a $25 funding. It requires 40 STEEL funding to cover 1 hectare's replanting.

For those that can only afford a smaller amount, a Certificate of Appreciation will be sent as a thank you. Additionally, a Plaque of Honor will be placed in the company headquarters listing all that have helped to fund this project.

With your help, we can bring the initial 1000 hectare to being funded, giving a livelihood to 1000 farm families. Additionally, as the company continues to grow, and propagate over the next 5 years, we will provide work for many thousands more farmers. The crop on field will produce for 8-15 years before replanting providing long term work for the farmers

At full production we will provide fuel enough to cover almost 20 million megawatt-hours worth of electrical and steam generation. Additionally for every ton of coal replaced with Biomass, we will keep over 2 ton of CO2 from entering the atmosphere, not to mention the SO2, and many heavy metals contained in coal.

What is really cool, is that each year (after month 24), you will earn about 16% on your donation and this will be paid to you directly, or donated to the Charity you choose. As we desire to grow well past 2000 hectare, the first 2 years "net" will wholly go to propagation (expansion). The more we expand production, the more farmers we provide work for, and the more coal we can replace. Our primary goal is to provide livelihood for in excess of 50,000 farmer/families. This could mean bringing food to the table, education and a quality of life for over 250,000 people!

Each Funder will get a monthly report showing the company's progress, and yearly will receive a copy of the company Audit, as required by Philippine law.

Our Philippine based company, Biomarenergy is located in Bacolod, approximately 60 miles south of the southern eye-wall as Typhoon Haiyan passed through Panay Island.

We were fortunate, and though we had high winds, we were unhurt by this epic storm. The majority of the provincial farmers are subsistence farmers, living on the edge day by day, Haiyan took this from millions of people. This project can help change this, we hope you are willing to be a part of their success!

Rewards

A financial split in the profits derived by Biomarenergy from the production of the 1/4 hectare funded by the donation. An estimated 400-600 metric tonne of grass will be produced by the 1 hectare. The farmer is paid $5 per tonne produced, from this, the salary for the following crop period will be held back, to guarantee a weekly payment to the farmer to cover the family food etc. Every 5 tonne of grass will produce 1 tonne of processed fuel, the loss is in the moisture of the grass primarily. Price to a mill or power plant is about $40 per tonne, so the gross profit per tonne is about $15 per tonne. From this we will give $2 to the funder and the remains will go to cover costs and profit of Biomarenergy Corporation. as the production is about 80 tonne (minimum) of processed fuel per year per hectare, the investor will earn $40 (minimum) per year on the $250 dollar donation. this is 16%, far better than any bank!
