Phelisanong Orphanage

Phelisanong is a community-based organization in Lesotho, Southern Africa, founded by members of the local community in 2001. The Centre provides a home, family, and community for people living with various mental and physical disabilities, HIV/AIDS, and other chronic illnesses, and orphans.

It is the only facility in Lesotho that accepts children with both physical and mental disabilities.

Phelisanong is dependent on donations and is currently struggling to keep the 88 children (6 months old to 18 years old) currently living at the centre during the COVID-19 pandemic. As winter creeps in, temperatures are dropping and snowfall is expected in the highlands where the centre is located. The objective of the campaign is to raise money to purchase food items and blankets for the children at the centre. A drive for the donation of warm clothing is concurrently being organised.
