PhD student Leukemia patient treament

My brother Salman Khan, a PhD student in China, requires funding for his immediate treatment for leukemia (blood cancer). The treatment includes chemotherapy, radiation therapy and bone marrow transplant.

Fundraising Appeal for Cancer patient
Salman Khan, a third year PhD student from Swabi (KPK), Pakistan has been
undergoing treatement for blood cancer in Jiangsu Hospital, Nanjing China. He is
Agriculture Engineer and has been a graduate student in Hohai University water
resources department since 2012, now near the completion of PhD. The cancer is a
rare type of Acute Leukemia that is high risk and requires urgent and
uninterrupted treatment. The treatment includes heavy dose chemotherapy sessions
that is going to be followed by bone marrow transplant. The estimated cost is
more than 0.6 Million Chinese Yuan (~0.1 Million US dollars) that is partially
covered by the health insurance. Salman and his family cannot afford the
difference and require support through charity.
Earlier in April, Salman started feeling severe chest pain and was immediately
taken to hospital by his friends and coleagues. After going through multiple
tests, the doctors diagnosed acute T-cell lymphoblastic leukemia (T-ALL) and
advised immediate start of treatment. The first chemotherapy went successfuly in
May which was followed by further diagnostic tests and second chemo session in
June. Currently, he is being treated at Jiangsu Province Hospital’s Haematology
department under Dr. Miao. So far, 150 thousands Chinese Yuan has been spent and
would need a further 400K-500K for medicines and bone marrow transplant.
Salman’s brother Dr. Farhan Khan, a Postdoc in Singapore is going to donate bone
marrow in July. So far, people from all over the world (China, Pakistan, Turkey,
US, UK, Europe) have contributed. However, we are still well behind the target.
