PhD research

I am Roshan Jayakody from Sri Lanka doing higher studies in UK. I did my master and other courses by paying myself by working. I am planning to do Phd and my proposal accepted by Lancaster university and university of Cumbria UK after interviewed and analysis by academic panel in university. However, this time course fee and other amount of cost is so higher than difficult to offer myself only. My family also cannot offer, and they do not have such economic power. I did all my studies myself and my dream to do the PhD to give proud for my family. My research basically social research which outcome really help for international brands for rearrange their own CSR process to avoid shortcoming and failure in own CSR process. Rana plaza incident in Bangaldesh, Child labour incidents and other CSR failure in south asia supply chain happened due to weakness of supply chain CSR process and end up with human tragedy. That cause for damage for Brand name and company reputation e.g. Primark. Therefore, this research outcome helps to identify the changes in supply chain CSR management which benefits for both international brands and supply chain partner to avoid CSR failure in own supply chain and enhance brand reputation and trust within all stakeholder. Finally, this research outcome will help for prevent human tragedy in supply chain and avoid loss of innocent poor workers life and enhance their living standers. I worked as Social auditor in South Asian region which have good experienced of how important of CSR system improvement change living standards of employees who help for global brands. Therefore, this research is basically provide practical approach for supply chain development as well as development living standards of poor employees.

I want to provide better input for ensure secure and safe working environment for south Asian supply chain emplyees.
