I have had an admission offer from two top universities in United Kingdom for my PhD. Below is my research interest. Please, help me finance the first year.

RESEARCH OVERVIEW

This research will explore the proposition that the strategic value of social responsibility is contingent upon certain pre-existing socio-political conditions. The present study will extend previous research on the link of competitive advantage and corporate social responsibility. It will use literature on institutional theories, political economy, corporate social responsibility, and strategy management to question and analyse the strategicness of corporate social responsibility in specific socio-political contexts.

RESEARCH SIGNIFICANCE

This study will mark the first in a series of research publications on the strategicness of CSR in specific socio-political contexts. It will focus on country-level influences on firm-level strategic CSR. The specific aims of this study are:
1. Initiating new ways of approaching strategic CSR in order to demystify this concept.
2. Investigating whether or not socio-political elements (e.g. legislative change, law, and
regulations) may influence the strategic value of CSR
3. Highlighting implications for today’s multi-national managers and policy-maker in
specific socio-political contexts

it is important to mention that policy-maker, business, and society will benefit from this study. Policy-maker will be aware of how multi-national companies may react to policies/regulations in terms of social responsibility. Businesses/Managers will know when to utilise CSR as strategic decision making (this will teach them not to spend time and energy in a strategy that does not work). The present research will provide multi-national companies with knowledge of how institutions may affect their strategic CSR in specific socio-political contexts. Finally, the society will be the winner - the more policy-maker and businesses are understood each other, the more society will benefit from their partnership.
