PhD fees

I am using this fundraiser to raise money towards payment of 50% fees for first year PhD study in the UK. This PhD qualification will greatly promote my career because I am presently teaching as part time assistant lecturer at the faculty of health science, University of Bamenda, Cameroon. Since the University  of Bamenda was opened in 2010 there has been an expressed need for doctoral level lecturers to be recruited to train nursing and medical student in the faculty of health sciences. My qualification in Master of Science in Health Studies obtained from UK enabled me gain position as part time lecturer in the faculty. I choose to continue my studies in England because I wish to maintain or build on the good standard of education  provided in developed countries. The other reason I wish to study for my PhD in England is the time factor. PhD courses in England have a well defined time line. This is not the case in my country. More over I have applied for, succeeded at interview and obtained an offer of admission for doctoral studies.  My offer for PhD studies offer was intended for September 2014. Because of my very poor financial status( I made only $150 last year with the prevailing pay rate 3000cfaf per hour at the University),  I could not pay for the fees to start the course this September.  I am fortunate my University has agreed to defer my offer to September 2015.  I call on you reading this statement to visualise yourself in my situation and try to understand my situation.  I am positive you wish to impact an individual's life. I am that individual at this time looking for support that will enable me gain the skills that will put me in that leadership position. I am very talented, ambitious and have great aptitude in academics, research and project works.  However,  my financial situation is threatening to be an impediment for me to achieve the necessary qualifications to be able to make contributions to my own University community and to make a difference generally. I promise you  I shall not be disappointed  because my previous studies were financed by a sponsor. I did not led them down. The money you invest in me shall bear fruit and you shall be proud you contributed to help bring change to an individual's life and make a difference in education in Africa.  My research topic is ''Simulation in nursing education a factor for strengthening health systems in Africa''. I propose to use qualitative methodology in this study. This research is highly feasible as the pool of students (sampling frame) exists. The research costs are minimal for me as researcher as I shall be working in fixed practice centres and study resources are accessible. Ethically there is potentially very low risk of harm to research participants, instead there is                        potential benefits to academic, professional and health policy community.   With your support I shall be able to make carry out this research and obtain my doctoral qualification.
