Ph.D for Social Change

I am a South African citizen pursuing a Ph.D at Walden University, an American Higher Education institution. My Ph.D is in information systems, with a focus on social change. With the exchange rate of rand to dollar being approximately 10:1, and as a straight "A" candidate, the only barrier to achieving this goal is financial.

One aspect of my research will result in the development of information systems for small to medium sized businessnes, in order to empower and enable growth of small to medium sized businesses, which has almost zero support in South Africa. As a developing country, the many contradications around the legislation of businesss and labor in South Africa prevents business owners from truly reaching their potentials. This research is aimed at solving some of these problems.

The second component of my research relates to renewable energy and sustainability. My aim is to create awareness around issues pertaining to sustainability, climate change and its associated environmental catastrophes. Furthermore, an information system for the regulation of renewable energy generation is needed in South Africa, which my research will be able to contribute towards.
