Campaign Story
Perpetua Agnes Calapit-Cortes (Perps to some, Ms Agnes to many, and Mama to two) needs radical nephrectomy (they need to remove one kidney) to to a growth that is preventing one of her kidneys from working. However, the costs of such an operation are too big for a family subsisting on a teacher's salary. She needs the operation in a month or shorter. Please help us?
UPDATE: We have received quotes from the National Kidney and Transplant Institute:
- Open Simple Nephrectomy 150-170K for the operation only (not including medical and professional fees, hospital bills, medicines, transfusions, etc)
- Open Radical Nephrectomy 190-210K for the operation only
- Lap Nephrectomy (Radical or Simple) 230-250K for the operation only
We don't know which one my mother will need yet, but it seems as if we'll need 400-500K for the operation plus all related costs. We still have around 2 weeks before her operation schedule, so hopefully we can come up with the money in that time!

Moved to NKTI! Operation scheduled TOMORROW!
Update posted by Inez Chiara Cortes at 08:34 amWe have moved to NKTI (the National Kidney and Transplant Institute) as the patients of Dr Gene Yusi. The operation is scheduled for 26 March 2018 at 12PM.

For that we're moving from the hospital in the province, to the National Kidney and Transplant Institute in Manila. NKTI specializes in kidney surgery,
