Perfect Vision

Perfect Vision is raising money to support and empower the women of Tanzania. It was the late Mama Happy’s vision to provide a place of comfort for Mamas to come and be supported with their heath and eduction. The members are provided with health insurance for the year. This costs approximately 30,000 TSH (~ $13) for 1 Mama, including 5 of her family members.

At Perfect Vision, the Mamas also spend time learning English, which is key to unlocking many job opportunities, here in Arusha. Most of the Mamas have had their education disrupted due to health concerns and financial hardship, so they benefit greatly through lessons in areas such as health, finances, life skills and entrepreneurship.

The Mamas also learn practical skills from each other, such as sewing, beading, jewellery making, cooking and making soap. Every project furthers their education, their skills, their confidence and their second chance in life.

Perfect Vision also helps others through a number of outreach projects. Menstruation prevents most adolescent children from attending a week of school every month simply because they can’t afford sanitary products. One of Perfect Vision’s big projects is to distribute hand-sewn reusable sanitary pads for local government schools and disadvantaged communities. Each sanitary pad kit cost 20,000 TSH (~ $10) to make and includes underwear, 6 liners, 2 outer pads, a bar of soap and a dirty laundry bag.

When they receive additional donations food packages are also delivered to the local community. Food packages cost approximately 70,000 TSH (~ $31) per family and lasts 1-2 weeks depending.

Education empowerment and support provided by Perfect Vision includes providing stationary to schools, fees for students who can’t afford the school fees themselves, expert classes to train and up skill the Mamas (such as sewing, make up and entrepreneurship) and other short causes (like hotel management and secretary courses). Other outreach projects include distributing hygiene materials mostly to orphanages and elderly homes.

This non-profit depends solely on donations and so is only able to assist where funds allow. Any donations would therefore go a long way and would be hugely appreciated by many. Thank you!
