Pepper, Sasha and Pancho moving from Ecuador to Lithuania!

My boyfriend and I adopted Pepper when she was a puppy few months after I moved to Ecuador. We found her in one of the local shelters. The story we were told, was that she was rescued in one of the parks in the North of Quito. That all stray dogs living in that park were poisoned, including her whole family, and she somehow managed to survive. For almost three years Pepper was enjoying the benefits of the only “child”, something she had a little bit trouble giving up when her siblings came along :) If Pepper was very much planned and anticipated, Pancho and Sasha came to our lives unexpectedly and almost at the same time.

I found Pancho when I was living and working on the coast of Ecuador helping those affected by the earthquake that hit the country in mid April of 2016. He was about two months old, malnourished and full of parasites. But with lots of TLC he recovered quite fast, and soon became an unofficial mascot and the emotional support cat of the office :) Pancho is a very social, and a rather mischievous cat, who likes to get in trouble every now and then.

About one week before it was time for Pancho and I to head back to Quito, I met Sasha. She was about 2 – 2.5 years at that time and in a horrible state – extremely skinny, almost no fur and with a nasty eye infection... a true earthquake survivor. Sasha was very shy and fearful once she first came living with us. But few weeks in she really started coming out of her shell. She was looking up to Pepper who taught her how to dog. Now she is a goof ball, just running around and being silly.

After four adventurous years in Ecuador it’s time for us to go back to Lithuania. Of course, we want to take our three pets with us as they are family and we wouldn’t bare leaving them behind. However, traveling this far isn’t neither cheap nor easy. Ideally, we wouldn’t ask for help, unfortunately, we can’t afford all the costs ourselves.

Three pets’ travel route: Quito (Ecuador) – Amsterdam (Netherlands) – Vilnius (Lithuania)

·$1080 – rabies test done in Santiago, Chile, in an EU approved laboratory.

·$360 – documentation needed for leaving Ecuador and entering the EU.

·$150 – pet in cabin (Pancho).

·$400 – pets in check-in (Pepper and Sasha).

·$300 – pet service in Amsterdam during the transfer (Pepper and Sasha).

·$35 – hand carrier for Pancho (estimated).

·$320 – kennels, size L, for Pepper and Sasha (estimated).
