Penn State Fundraiser

"YOU'RE IN!" I have been accepted to my dream school of Pennsylvania State University on November 17th, 2014, not only that but I had been accepted to the very selective main campus. While the sense of joy and relief that comes with getting into a college, the great feeling of anxiety accompanies it. My mother gave birth to me when she was 17 years old, she dropped out of highschool, worked 2 jobs, and raised me on her own. My gratitude to her is forever embedded, she is the strongest and most hardworking woman I have ever met. Unfortunately, it isn't easy to work two jobs to pay the bills and to also save money for your daughter's education past high school. Penn State has opened it's doors and thousands of opportunities to me. Now I know that I will work hard and take student loans in order to finance this next chapter in my life. I have no idea if anyone will donate to this cause, because I am not foolish. I know there are men and women who are homeless, and those who work to fight diseases, and I know they need money too. I'm asking for $1200 to go towards my college textbooks so that one day I will be able to be a woman working alongside those who are making the world a better place.
