I am Peng Huanran, a graduate student from UT-Austin. The story I want to share today is about my sister Peng Hui, who is diligent and kind at the age of 37. The memory of attending her wedding was still vivid, but now she is facing such a cruel situation. She has a wonderful family with a hard-working husband and two young childer, the brother is just one and a half.

On October 10, 2019, due to high fever for several days, she went to the Third Xiangya Hospital of Central South University for examination. The result of the blood test showed suspected leukemia. After a bone marrow aspiration, she was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia M2a. The doctor immediately issued a critical illness notice and recommended immediate hospitalization. Thinking of elderly parents and young children, she told herself to be strong and she must win the fight with the leukemia demons bravely.

Since she got ill, her whole family has changed dramatically. Her husband quitted his job to take care of her. Their parents are in their 70s and frail, unfortunately, their parents still need to take care of the young children. Sometimes, thinking of her illness burdening her family so much, she feels very guilty and helpless.

On October 13, 2019, the first phase of chemotherapy began. During the period, she experienced fever, nausea, loss of appetite, and hair loss caused by chemotherapy. Although the process was painful, she was always optimistic and actively cooperated with the doctor.

On November 19, the second chemotherapy arrived as scheduled. Before chemotherapy, the doctor told her that the treatment was very effective. On December 21, the bone perforation results showed the effect of treatment was very good. The problem is that after three periods of treatment, her savings are almost depletion.

She is immediately faced with bone marrow transplantation. The cost of bone marrow transplantation and postoperative medication, including anti-infection, anti-rejection, and monthly inspections, will exceed 150,000$, which is not capped. She has already spent more than 100,000$.

Since her husband has to take care of her, they no longer have any source of income. They are under tremendous psychological and financial pressures, but they cannot do anything about it. To support her mother with a bone marrow transplant, her twelve years old daughter volunteered to be her bone marrow provider.

That is the reason I choose to ask for help at Gofundme. Thank you for your generosity and please, which can help my sister back to her family as soon as possible. She is willing to give back to society, and give back to everyone who has given her care and help in the future.

Thank you for reading this story. Your support and love will help her to go through all the difficulties.
