The PeaceAids International is a global peace organization involve in grassroot/ rural communities development. For the past years i have devoted my self to working and sacrifice towards a more fairer and peace world in the area of education.
Quality primary education is a fundamental right of every child. This right is enshrined in the Convention of Rights of the Child. Hence it is our duty quality primary education with good infrastructural facilities which should be accessible to all children.
For this reason we are raising fund to provide education for about 200 children in rural communities in Volta Region, Ghana.
Children from Deme and its adjoining villages (Sabgakope, Dzokplenu, Kosakope, Patukope and Avorvlorte) always have to walk about 10.20km to Dabala (a suburb of South Tongu District in the Volta region of Ghana, West Africa) which is the nearest town to them to go to school or access the nearest clinic.
The reason for raising the fund is geared towards solving this problem by building a 9-unit classroom block and it ancillary facility such as dispensary, library and ICT centre. Aside that, the fund will assist PeaceAids in it E-delivery project and Adolescent reproductive health education in these villages.
The good news is that the communities has gladly accepted the project and has donated acres of land for the construction of the school.
proposed land to build the education facility.
The absence of basic school facility and infrastructure continues to impact negatively on children's performance in school and life. Related to the above is the fact that currently children of school-going age do not have access to quality basic education due to lack of basic educational facility around Deme and its other four (4) environs. For those who attempt to go to school, they have to walk for awfully long distances (about 5.10km thus 3.5 miles thus 10. 20 Km to & fro everyday) to the nearest town, Dabala. As such, children of school going age do not attend school due to the very long distance they had to cover. They are sometimes knocked down by passing vehicles. Among the problems also are a lack of appropriate preschool facilities like teaching and learning materials, school, furniture, just to mention but a few in the existing school at Dabala. To make matters worse, some of the facilities which house the children are dilapidated.
The classroom is a wooden structure and dilapidated (shed - see picture below ).
The dilapidated structure
Children cannot attend school during the raining seasons due to the hazards the rains pose. Parents prefer their children stay at home rather than expose them to the dangers on the way to school due to the rains. The situation is further exacerbated by the high poverty levels of the parents making it increasingly difficult to meet basic needs of children including prescribed school uniforms. To tackle the problem and to reduce the long distance walking, the PeaceAids International took the initiative to provide a 6-unit class room block which will include a health post for first Aid for the children, a library and I. C. T centre.
This project will be implemented using community centered development approach, such that the community is willing to make some level commitment by providing certain requirements. This they have done by donating acres of land to support the project.
One of the affected communities for which children do not get access to basic education. PeaceAids team meeting with the village folks during the community assessment stage.
PeaceAids Int. Secretary-General with one of the children. This child said it's a dream to become a medical doctor but as at now she does not know how she will realize her dream because the school is very far away from them and she will be forced to stop the school.
You can let her realize her dream by donating to support building the educational facility for them.
We must know that, war and violence are expensive. And inequality can cause.
This children deserve the right to education and only you and I can help them. The earlier we realize and invest in it the better we can all contribute towards a more fairer and peaceful world.
Therefore, the money raise will be used to support mainly building basic school for the affected villages and to support our ''E-delivery project'' which aim at tackling maternal health across the globe using an online technology. I will make sure, the fund expenditure will be publish on the website (PeaceAids International ) for scrutining and assessment.
We expect to raise this money in the next six (6) month thus (by May 30,2018) to save lives of the children by providing them education in Ghana, Africa and to support on going projects.
I believe and very passionate about this project because, lthe children's live will jeopadise and hence will not get the necessary education hence they will lag behind.
Will be very grateful and honored knowing well that am not in this alone. Let help provide and build basic education or the children in rural Deme and it environs in Ghana, Africa.
I look forward to your support in raising the fund.
Coming together to support the cause of peace is a beginning, staying together is an progress and working together is an achievement.
