Paying Our Animal Lighthouse Shelter Vet Account That Has Been Frozen

Animal Lighthouse Shelter the only animal shelter in Vredenburg, Western Cape, South Africa and we have had our vet account frozen until payment has been made in full. We have been desperately trying to raise funds for this but to no avail.Animal Lighthouse cannot take any sick or injured animals to our vet until the account has been paid in full. In South African Rands this amount is: R4539.80. So in dollars we have asked for $400 to hopefully cover any loss the charity will incur for converting Dollars into Rands. Proof of the vet account is attached at the bottom of this letter. The vet we are using is Wesland Animal Clinic, and you are totally welcome to phone them to confirm this is all true what we are asking for today on: +27(0) 2271 34970. Animal Lighthouse In A Nutshell

Ronel Basson started the animal shelter 8 years ago after always dreaming of being able to offer a safe home and sanctuary for any animal, no matter how big or small. Ronels ethos has remained the same for all 8 years - that the key to success and winning the war on animal abuse and neglect is through education. Educating the owners in a kind and compassionate way. And this is something we spend time doing on a monthly on going basis, be it visiting owners directly and getting updates on earlier cause for concern cases, to organising free sterilisation days to prevent more unwanted animals entering into this chaotic world.

When owners do not wish to work with the shelter and make positive improvements to their companion animals life, we then assist in removing the animal and take him or her into our shelter. Once we have rehabilitated the animal we focus on finding the right kind of forever home for them. If they cannot be rehomed, then they will be able to live out the rest of their days in peace at our shelter.

If you visit our Animal Lighthouse page, you can see just this week alone, we have had to take in 10 puppies and 2 mummy dogs (see first two pics). This has now pushed up the total dogs in our shelter to 60! And we rely completely on public donations. So, this is why we are trying a different direction today and appealing to the world to please assist in helping to pay our vet account so we can take any dogs in our care or in disadvantaged areas that may need us at a moment's notice, to the vet.
