Paying My Education

Hello, my name is Miguel Martinez. I am currently attending California State University, Northridge, persuading a Bachelor Degree in Information Systems.

When I was eleven years old I migrated from Mexico to the USA. My first goal coming to the USA was to have my American Dream. I always wanted to have an education, in order to help my parents and my community. I enroll in Ocean View Junior High at the age of 12, where I quickly adapted to the new culture and I quickly learn the new language (English). Some of my accomplishments in Junior High were being on the top students who progress in subjects like Mathematics, English, Spanish and Science. After, graduating from Junior High I enrolled in Channel Islands High School, where I made a lot of accomplishments. During my High School years I got perfect attendance for the whole academic school year. I also received several certificates for being on the top students with a 3.5 GPA or above. I also enrolled in different clubs who required having a good academic standing like, The Science Club, The California Fundraiser Club and the Migrant Program.  I graduated with a 3.8 GPA from High School and I enrolled into Oxnard Community College, where I got an AA in Business. During community college I was in the DEAN List for my second year and I transfer to California State University with a 3.5 GPA.

Here is where my problem started. Enrolling in a public university cost a lot of money. I am having a lot of struggling financing my education and that’s why I made this campaign to find people to help me accomplish my “AMERICAN DREAM”.
