Campaign Story
Hi there!
My name is Jennie, and for those of you who don't already know me, I'm the scone lady!
What started out as just a bit of fun in the kitchen, soon escalated into scone madness! Developing scone recipes, testing them out, eventually assembling them into my very own self-published ebook on Amazon called, "Fancy a Scone" (still available at all good Amazon retailers!!). As time went on, I became more and more intrigued by the wonders of the kitchen, and my attention soon turned to bread making and the science behind it. I found it fascinating how such small amounts of basic ingredients could transform into something so incredible! The more I learned, the more I wanted to learn. Soon enough, bread and cake competitions were entered, (with many tears and disasters along the way), but finally my time came - and I scooped the Bronze Award at the "World Bread Awards" in the Home Baker’s category! WOOHOO!
It was then that I realised I didn't just want to bake as a hobby, but I wanted to make it my career - to truly master the art of baking and take the necessary steps to become a professional pastry chef. (Yes, I know the hours are long, and from what I've heard its a pretty scary industry to work in - but I can't wait to get started!).
So I've taken the plunge!! I've enrolled on a professional pastry chef course at Westminster Kingsway College, London, on their International Patisserie Diploma. However it doesn't come cheap, the course fee is expensive, (due to its quality and the college's reputation), for which there is sadly no government funding, small grants or bursaries available, so I'm on my own. I've been saving as much as I can by working two jobs, using my feet as a mode of transport, whilst eating nothing but beans on toast and bananas, but fear I may still fall short. So...
I have created this site to ask you for a little bit of help! I would be truly grateful and would show my gratitude by making something special for you to say thank you. Please take a look to the right to see all the rewards I am offering for donations. You can expect anything from homemade biscuits, brownies, fudge and much much more! It will be a home baked package galore through your very door! (Smaller donations are also very welcome and very much appreciated!).
Thank you for taking the time to look at my fundraising site and helping me to get to Pastry College. I hope to keep you updated with my journey in becoming a master pastry chef! Thanks again and happy baking!

Hey Jen I am donating this little amount to you, I wish it could be more, because you are working your little butt off doing endless shifts back to back over the next 3 weeks. I admire your determination and know you will not let anyone down. Keep it up!
