Hi there, I am sincerely raising funds for a one way ticket back to South Africa. I'm stuck in America and I need a flight back home or I’ll be deported if I overstay my visa. I came to the U.S on January 7th 2019, taking a leap of faith to go to 42 U.S silicon valley, check site: https://www.42.us.org/. I wanted to embark on a path in coding that I hope will one-day put me in a better position for opportunities. But, it was a miscalculated move because I used a one way ticket from United air coming to the U.S. I relied on another one way ticket to fly home, but that ticket was booked over 365 days ago and has expired( I can't use it).
It was my only way back home after the program. So now I'm stuck in the U.S. and I ran out of money. I can't officially work because I have a B1/B2 visa which I got a in 2017 for a semester program in Boulder CO, check: https://watson.is/scholar/norman-mthethwa/ which is also ending in 19 days. I am currently staying at the 42 school dorms which are freely given to international students, check: https://dorms.42.us.org/users/sign_in
Now I wish to go home, reboot, get a job, re-plan, maybe come back again when I have a better plan to cover living expenses when doing the program again.
Any amount will help cover a one way ticket to Johannesburg, South Africa.
I have personally lived to help other people with whatever knowledge I got. I started an N.P.O called Dropinsea-Check: http://dropinsea.org/ to help my community get water access. I also grew up loving Celine Dion (awesome, right?). Secondly, my family abandoned me at a young age, so I basically raised himself living with a high school friend. I’ve transformed from a normal mischievous teenager to an incredibly mature and driven young man. Looking back on my trying childhood, I fully understand how 42 and other opportunities give me chances to provide a better future for myself. If I don't make it happen, I have nowhere to go and no one to support me. I'm fully up for this challenge and chance at life. But…. There’s hurdles like this to overcome before going forward. Help me work to get well deserved chances. Early on I was abandoned, but if you join me today, you can show me there are people out there who believe in something and want to see me succeed! Questions are the foundation of my life. I want to be a sincere, well-rounded entrepreneurial leader, not by providing answers, but by fostering curiosity, creativity and inquisitiveness. I am not a passive recipient of aid–but I play a dynamic role in shaping the content and direction of my life.
Any amount you could pledge would make me get closer home. Thank you for your consideration and thoughtfulness!
