Pay it Forward

Hi,

We're Carl and Patrick from CP Travels and our goal is to help make international travel more accessible to everyone. CP Travels began as a way for Carl and I to share some of our travel stories with more people in the hopes that it'd encourage them to travel more. Over the past few years it has grown into something much bigger than that.

CP Travels has evolved into a platform where travelers can share their valuable perspectives on life; it is a network for people to meet new travelers and have shared experiences; and in 2017 it's looking to make dreams come true.

In 2017 we launched our year long, Pay It Forward travel initiative. For 2018 we've launched our For The Culture list of travel events.

Pay it Forward ; the eventThe event is comprised of 10 international group trips that will take travelers through 6 continents and will cover 14 unique countries. During each trip we will be helping the travelers complete items from their bucket lists.
This event doesn't just serve the group of travelers. We will be 'paying it forward' throughout the trip by raising awareness and collecting donations for two organizations that are very near and dear to us: The Lupus Foundation of America: Heartland Chapter and The Bee Foundation for Brain Aneurysm Awareness.

My mother has thrived through two Brain Aneurysms, and Patrick's mother was diagnosed with lupus in 2005.

They are the reason that we have set out on this journey around the world and why we want to encourage so many others to do the same.

Life is short and unpredictable and there are lots of big, scary things that can happen at any moment and change whatever plans you might have had before. Our mothers journey's have inspired us to live a life of adventure and to help as many people as we can.

Once it's all said and done we not only want to make a meaningful impact in people's lives via traveling, we also want to be in the communities of each of the places we visit and make an impact in those areas as well.


We began as Black Men Travel, then Brown Men Travel, and finally ended at CP Travels. The name itself was us saying that we want to see more people like us having some of the experiences and opportunities that we've been fortunate enough to have. We wanted to show people just like us and change their minds about what traveling was and who could do it.

If they thought it was impossible, we wanted to show them that it wasn't, and not only were we living proof, but they could be too.

I hope that what we've done has reached others in some way, and has changed some perspectives, and even encouraged some to think differently.

CP Travels is not just about travel, it's about knowledge. Through our travel events, podcast, itineraries, and outreach programs we work to Pay it Forward on a daily basis.

This initiative aligns with our core values.

Travel is fun and pictures are cool, but it's what learned from travel that we value the most. As we lead groups that's how we hope to pay it forward. As we raise awareness for causes close to our hearts that's how we'll pay it forward. Let's get others to pay it forward with us. Everyone has something to give. Everyone has a story.
