Campaign Story
My name is Gordon A. Crowells. I was born and raised in Ontario, Canada. When I was 30 years old, I moved to the USA and lived there for a good number of years, driving a big rig in every state and most of Canada. When I turned 60 years of age, I became unable to drive a semi-tractor any more. I am a diabetic. Shortly there after, my daughter and son-in-law's family moved from Washington State and they brought me along to Europe. I have been to Portugal, Spain, France, England, Scotland, which was the home of my grandparents, and Ireland. In our family of 11, two of them are my grandchildren.
Due to diabetes,
and poorly controlled blood sugar levels, I have nerve damage in my
feet and leg below the knee. I don't feel any pain there. In September
2014, I developed a bad infection in my toes. I had stepped on some
glass that punctured my foot and didn't feel it. It turned to gangrene. I
had to have my toes and the ball of my right foot amputated. My
son-in-law's family used their savings to pay about $95,000.00 USD for
my 11 week stay in the hospital, the surgery, the skin grafts and
traveling expenses. So, I am now praying for help. I would like to pay
back my son-in-law's family. They kindly and selflessly spent their
savings on my medical bills.
Thank You Very Much,
Gordon.
