Little is known about Pituitary Tumours in South Africa, hence there is a lack of knowledge about the extent or degree of impact these pituitary conditions have on the lives of people affected. Over 90% of patients refered to our tertiary institutions between 1998 and 2008 were from ophthamology department presenting with visual problems most of which were irreversible due to late presentation. Our main objective is to mobilise communities to be on high alert and look out for early signs of pituitary tumours with much emphasis on visual deterioration among other factors, and help them get appropriate treatment as quickly as possible before much damaged has been done. Currently early diagnosis and treatment of pituitary tumours is key to successful therapeutic outcomes.

This project is a fundraiser for our programs and your donation will go a long way to help those who suffer in silence with these debilitating diseases see some light and get the treatment and support that they need.
