Holly was picked to attend the National Youth Leadership Pathways to STEM. It is a unique learning experience for bright, forward-thinking elementary school students who will evolve into next generation innovators, engineers, doctors, software developers, and scientists. Students learn through six days of hands-on simulations and workshops, while making new friends and having unforgettable adventures. She will spend a week at Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, NC.
The following week Holly will be attending the University of North Carolina Wilmington. She will study some of the oceans most threatened species. Explore the sea turtle life cycle and follow the great migrations they undertake seasonally to feed, mate, and nest. She will learn how scientists track turtles as they travel. Investigate climate change and the potential threat sea level rise poses for the beaches where turtles nest. Learn about efforts to help protect and preserve our coastlines for future nesting sea turtles and other species of turtles that inhabit our coastal zone. Complete a coastal marine debris service project to help protect migrating species.
Please help us raise the money for Holly to attend both these programs this summer. These programs along with travel & lodging will be very expensive but the benefits of her attending will be priceless!
Thank you in advanced for your help!!! .
