Throughout my life, I cannot deny that my life is blessed in any way one can define what being blessed means.

With that being said, like everyone else, my life is not always a smooth sail.

I was born as the youngest child of a middle-class family. Growing up, I am blessed, and I am grateful for it- to live an enough life, you know, the life where you have enough to be alright, thanks to my hardworking parents. We never went hungry. All of my siblings and I have the chance to enjoy education and have clothes to wear. We all had what we need and little else here and there that we are occasionally blessed to have. I will be forever indebted to my parents as I owe it to their sweat and love that I am now able to successfully reach this stage of my life. They are very serious about education.

My family consists of my parents, three older siblings and me. My father is a retired veteran while my mother is a homemaker, with side small businesses like selling ice cubes and taking care of a baby while her mother is teaching in an elementary school nearby my home. My two oldest siblings already married and busy with my cute little nieces and nephews. My third oldest sister lived in another city and paying for her own bachelor degree course in Chemistry Education. I, myself, thankfully is a university junior, majoring in International Relations. Thanks to the full scholarship I was rewarded by the university foundation based on my Acceptance Test score and past achievements, I am able to pursue bachelor degree right away after I graduate from high school.

I dreamed of an international career, especially in International Business and Economy. My study of International Relations has been able to an extent prepare me, theoretically, to pursue the career I am aiming. However, to present a full package, practical experiences are also a necessity. Good news is, I luckily landed an internship in Taiwan for 6 months in a large Holding Company. The Bad News is, the travel and visa expenses, as well as the living cost for the first month, are expensive. My parents and I can only shore up around IDR 9,000,000 (more or less USD 675) which is a fraction more than a half of the total cost.

Why is this internship opportunity important to me? Of course, first and foremost is the chance of opening up a career path for the future. By hoping and working on it, I wish to gain a permanent position in the company after I finish the duration of my internship.

The second reason is that the internship program would allow me to experience living abroad and learn about foreign cultures and connect with people with different and colorful cultural backgrounds, similar to the experiences I gained while living in the US for a fully-funded exchange program. The time I spent in the US has been the most unforgettable memories I have ever had in my entire life so far. It has been very enriching for me as an individual and the fact that I gain a new loving family, and an extended one at that, while I was there, is not one I will ever trade for the world. I am excited to live in Taiwan and anticipate to experience the same thrill.

This time around, in Taiwan, I am optimistic and hope that with the opportunity I would also be able to become more mature and more enriched, not only personally, but also professionally.

Additionally, other reason that motivates me is the fact that from the minimum salary that I will get from the internship, due to currency exchange rate, I will be able to save up a little which I will use to help me pay for what's left from my study expenses such as the expenses needed to work on final thesis and hold the thesis defense meetings which are the obligatory requirements to graduate. I will also allocate the saved money to pay for graduation ceremony fee, and my parents' accommodation to attend the ceremony as to relieve my parents of the burden.

As I know that this, to an extent, is very personal in nature and not in anyway benefit any other people, except for me, for those of you who are willing to help on a loan basis, I would also be greatly thankful for it. If so please do contact me let's discuss the details :).

All in all, whether you decided to participate in this fundraising or not, it really does not matter. Even a simple good thoughts, will, and prayers that are sent to me would worth the same as financial aid. As you guys willing to spend your time reading this plea and listen to me sharing a little bit about myself and burden and aspiration means a lot to me. It means that you care about me as a person, as your acquaintance, as your friend, and as your family. Thank you so much, and know that I will be forever grateful for you guys' love.

Once again Thank you so much!

Catch you on the other side!

P.S: if you desire for more detailed information, just contact me. I can provide you with the acceptance letter, etc. I am a little bit peeved of putting out names out here. I am being cautious :) And anyone is curious or intrigued by this fundraising can always also contact me :)
